Finca KOA History

HOW WE STARTED

Finca KOA was born with the intention of wanting to do things differently in the coffee industry and in the tradition that we had to learn. Doing things differently is something that represents the DNA of the brand and all of us who are part of it. In 2017, our own farm was acquired. The name Finca KOA is a tribute to the surnames that have been dedicated to coffee for generations and inherited us the passion for coffee that represents us. That is the reason for our logo, a coffee grinder that represents for us tradition, family, and fresh coffee.

THE PROCESS WE WENT THROUGH

Throughout history, the coffee industry in Nicaragua has been unfavorable for the producers. It began with the involvement of intermediaries, followed by low wages and a multitude of factors that have negatively impacted business practices. That's why we started cultivating our coffee with superior coffee plants, combining dedication with experience. Our harvests are not massive, but we produce a special coffee that we can trace back to its most basic process and ensure its quality. This is how we are changing the course of history.
OUR JOURNEY TO EXCELLENCE

OUR PRESENT

Today we can proudly say that FINCA KOA has 90 acre (36.4217 hectares) of virgin forest and another 90 acre (36.4217 hectares) destined to the production of specialty coffee. We cherish the importance of preserving our natural heritage, safeguarding not only the majestic trees that have stood for centuries but also the thriving wildlife that calls this sanctuary home. In an era plagued by the escalating threat of deforestation driven by commercial coffee production, our dedication to environmental preservation stands unwavering.
EMBRACING SUSTAINABLE COFFEE PRACTICES

Discover the Origins of Specialty Coffee

Nowadays, We standardize our processes and import our entire crop to Florida where we have our warehouse and can sell our private label fresh roasted coffee and provide roasters and coffee shops with Single State Coffee. Our farm is delimited in yellow. Its climate and altitude allow us to harvest excellent coffee. Beyond protecting these invaluable ecosystems, we are equally passionate about promoting ethical production practices and direct trade within the coffee industry. We recognize the challenges faced by farmers like us and understand the need for fair compensation and sustainable relationships. By embracing direct trade principles, we strive to empower our fellow coffee producers and foster an equitable and prosperous coffee community. Together, we can make a difference and redefine the future of responsible coffee cultivation.
